2027 Application
Submission Period: Dec 1st, 2026 - Dec 31st, 2026
Works selected for the 2027 Up & Up Kiteshow will be exhibited at the Hyde Park Art Center May 1st - July 18th, 2027. The exhibition will conclude with a community kite-flying event at Promontory Point in Chicago, IL. All work must be ready for install by April 1st.
All submission materials should be sent as a single PDF to upupkiteshow@gmail.com within the designated time frame. Please attach your payment confirmation to the submission email.
Submission Materials:
1. Short Biography
A statement that includes a brief description of your practice, notable awards, exhibitions, and residencies you have
participated in (max 200 words).
2. Portfolio
Include 5 images of work that is reflective of your practice and/or relevant to the proposal. Please include the year, materials, and dimensions.
3. Kite Proposal
This should include a detailed sketch of 1-2 kites you wish to produce plus a written description of the work (max 200 words).
4. $8 Application Fee*
